Reclaim Gift Aid

Gift Aid It!Add 25% more to your donation at no cost to you. A Gift Aid declaration allows Sight for Life to claim tax back on eligible donations. It means that for every £1 you donate to Sight for Life we can claim back 25p, at no extra cost to you.

By ticking the "Yes" box, I agree I would like Sight for Life to reclaim the tax on all qualifying donations I have made, as well as any future donations, until I notify them otherwise. I understand that if I pay less Income Tax and/or Capital Gains Tax than the amount of Gift Aid claimed on all my donations in that tax year I may be asked to pay any difference. I understand that Sight for Life will reclaim 25p of tax on every £1 that I give.

What is Gift Aid?

Gift Aid does not cost you a penny more, but can add an additional 25p to every £1 you donate. When Sight for Life receives a donation from a UK taxpayer, we're entitled to claim an amount of tax (calculated at the basic rate of income tax in that year) paid on that donation. Once you have given your permission for us to do this on your behalf, there is no need for you to do anything else.

All that is required is that you must be a taxpayer and that would have paid or will pay sufficient Income and/or Capital Gains Tax to cover all the Gift Aid claimed on all your donations in that tax year. Please note that it is your responsibility to pay any difference.

The amount of tax we claim will be 25% of the total value of your donations in that tax year. Furthermore, if you are a higher taxpayer, you are also entitled to claim the difference between the basic rate which we will claim and the amount of tax you have actually paid. For further details on how you can do this, please contact your tax office. If your tax situation changes and your gifts will no longer be eligible for the Gift Aid scheme please contact us and we will amend your record accordingly.

Help Haider!

See His Dreams Come True

A Young Boy from Chichawatni With Dreams Bigger Than His Challenges

“Haider is a young, blind boy from the rural town of Chichawatni. But despite his blindness, Haider holds on to something powerful — a dream to study, learn, and one day uplift his community.”

He doesn't ask for much. Just a chance to see.

At Sight for Life Trust, we are striving to provide Haider with the life-changing eye treatment he needs. With your support, we can help him open his eyes — not just to the world around him, but to a future full of possibility.

Haider Tries to Study Through Braille

Even though he can’t see, Haider tries to study using braille. He wants to learn — all he needs is his sight back.

Haider Could Be Your Future Teacher or Doctor

We meet hundreds of children in need like Haider — kids with brilliant minds but treatable blindness. Often, they give up on their dreams simply because they can’t see the blackboard or read a book.

But with timely medical support and proper care, so many of these cases are reversible. All they need is a helping hand.

What Your Donations Can Do

"When I grow up, I want to become a teacher and help other kids like me."

Why Support Sight for Life Trust?

Frequently Asked Questions:

How much of my donation goes to helping individuals?

At Sight for Life, we operate under a 100% donation policy. This ensures that every pound you contribute directly funds our hospital and patient care in Pakistan. All administrative and operational costs are covered by executive donors and sponsors, ensuring your entire donation supports those in need.

Sight for Life is committed to eliminating blindness and vision-related challenges among some of the world’s poorest communities. We provide free eye care services, including surgeries and treatments, through our Jannat Aziz Eye Hospital and outreach programs like Vision on Wheels and school screening initiatives.

We primarily operate in rural regions of Pakistan, delivering essential eye care services to underserved populations. Our Vision on Wheels program extends our eye charity reach to remote areas, where we also work as blind children charity conducting eye screenings in schools to detect and address vision issues early, ensuring children can learn effectively.

To cancel or modify your monthly donation, please contact our Supporter Care team by emailing [email protected] or calling +44 (0)161 200 8445. They will assist you with any changes you wish to make.

Gift Aid is a UK government scheme that allows charities to reclaim tax on donations made by UK taxpayers. This means your donations can be worth 25% more at no extra cost to you. For example, a £50 donation could become £62.50 with Gift Aid. To qualify, you must pay at least as much Income Tax and/or Capital Gains Tax in the tax year as the amount of Gift Aid claimed on all your donations.

Your generosity supports:
• Blindness Charities: Funding programs dedicated to preventing and treating blindness.
• Eye Surgery Charity Initiatives: Providing surgeries to those in need.
• Vision Charities: Supporting research and services aimed at improving eye health.
