Sight for Life (“SFL)  are committed to maintaining the trust and confidence of our members; donors; clients service and pateints.  SFL will not sell, rent  trade our contact database with other companies or businesses for marketing purposes. This Privacy Policy, details on how and why we collect your personal information, how we use it.  We also provide details under which we may disclose it to others and how we keep it secure.

Types of data we collect

Website Cookies

SFL website uses cookies – small text files that are placed on your device to help the site provide a better user experience. In general, cookies are used to retain user preferences, store information for things like donor preferences, and provide anonymised tracking data to third party applications like Google Analytics. As a rule, cookies will make your browsing experience better. However, you may prefer to disable cookies on this site and on others. Google Analytics

SFL uses a third party service, Google Analytics, to collect standard internet log information and details of visitor behaviour patterns. We do this to find out things such as the number of visitors to the various parts of the site. This information is only processed in a way which does not identify anyone. We do not make, and do not allow Google to make, any attempt to find out the identities of those visiting our website.

Wifi

SFL offers free Wi-Fi for visitors to our hospital.  When you use the Wi-Fi we may collect data about:

  1. a) your device;
  2. b) the volume of data which you use;
  3. c) the websites and applications which you access; and
  4. d) your usage by access time, frequency and location.

Mailing Lists

As part of the registration process, we collect personal information. We use this information to keep you informed:-

  • about things relevant to eye care
  • provide information you’ve asked us to tell you about;
  • contact you if we need to obtain or provide additional information;
  • check our records are right
  • check regularly that you’re happy and satisfied with our service
  • Send you our e-newsletter/e-bulletin

We do not rent or trade email lists with other organisations and businesses.

We use a third-party provider, MailChimp, to deliver our newsletter. We gather statistics around email opening and clicks using industry standard technologies to help us monitor and improve our e-bulletin. Sharing Information with others

SFL  may share anonymised personal information with our donors and finding partners who require this to analyse our effectiveness and to determine value for money on the funding, income generated and/or funding secured from other sources to understand the impact of the donations given to SFL.   We will not share any personal or sensitive information.
